Annual shoe drive

At the heart of the WCSA lies a strong commitment to giving back to the community. One of the ways the organization fulfills this mission is through its annual shoe drive, which supports the Two Ten Foundation. This foundation, known for its dedication to helping those in need, plays a vital role in providing new shoes to thousands of individuals across Canada. Let's take a closer look at the impactful work being done by WCSA members and the Two Ten Foundation.

Supporting Those in Need: With over 140 members, the WCSA is a thriving community of footwear, apparel, and accessory industry professionals. Through their collective efforts, they actively contribute to improving the lives of others. The annual shoe drive is a testament to their compassion and desire to make a positive impact.

The Two Ten Foundation: The Two Ten Foundation is a renowned shoe industry charity that has been serving Canada for many years. Its core mission of "shoepeople helping shoepeople" resonates deeply within the WCSA community. Through the foundation's tireless work, more than 40,000 individuals, including women, men, and children, have received new shoes each year. This act of kindness brings comfort, dignity, and a renewed sense of hope to those in need.

Making a Difference in Metro Vancouver: WCSA volunteers dedicate themselves year-round to support the Two Ten Foundation's shoe drive. Their efforts involve sorting and delivering new shoes to more than thirty recognized charities in the Metro Vancouver area. These charities serve as recipients of the generous donations contributed by industry retailers, manufacturers, and distributors. Together, they ensure that the shoes reach the hands of those who need them most.

A Legacy of Impact: The Two Ten Foundation of Canada, as a registered non-profit charitable foundation, continues to provide essential services and support to members of the footwear industry. Since the inception of its annual SOS Footwear Drive in 1993, the foundation has distributed an astounding 500,000 pairs of new shoes to Canadians in need. This remarkable achievement reflects the dedication and unwavering commitment of the Two Ten Foundation and its partners, including the WCSA.
